What can I expect from an appointment with Dr. Thatcher?

Seeing a Naturopathic doctor is unlike most other doctors you have seen. The first appointment is a complete, detailed history and gathering of information. Your current medications and supplements are  evaluated, labs may be ordered and a physical exam will be performed. This first appointment usually averages 1 1/2 to 2 hours in length. A second visit is set up in close conjunction with the first (usually 1 week to 10 days later). This gives the doctor time to analyze your case, review any labs that have been returned and design a detailed treatment plan to be discussed and decided upon at the second visit. The second visit consists of reviewing any labs with the patient or ordering labs if that has not been done previously. It also consists of educating the patient and discussing the proposed treatment plan and suggestions made by the doctor together to decide on the best course of therapy. The patient is an integral partner with the doctor in their health, wellness and recovery so every effort is made to include the patient in these decisions. This second visit typically lasts 1 1/2 hours.

After these initial visits, the patient then has access to same-day appointments in acute situations as well as appointment priority for any ongoing treatments. The patient also has email accessibility for off-hours.

Subsequent follow up appointments typically last 1/2 hour to 1 hour depending on the situation and the depth of the issue.

Fees:

Initial Visit Teens & Adults (approx 2 hours): $150

2nd Visit: Blood work review /treatment plan (1-1 1/2 hours): $100

Initial visit (Pediatrics) (1-1 1/2 hours): $125

Follow-up visits:
1/2 hour: $45
1 hour: $75
90 mins: $120

Initial acupuncture-only visit (1- 1 1/2 hour): $75-$100

Acupuncture follow up appointments: $45-$65

 

Payment:

Payment is expected upon services rendered. Accepted forms of payment are: cash, personal checks, Visa, Mastercard (including from HSA accounts), American Express, and Discover card.

Cancellation policy:

Please make every effort to respect a 24 hour cancellation policy by calling or emailing me if you cannot keep your appointment.

Insurance:

I am considered an out-of-network provider for most insurance companies in Arizona. Payment for services are rendered to me at the time of service. Your receipt is a superbill which you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Check with your particular insurance company on their out-of-network policy.

Your lab work is almost always covered by your insurance company when their in-network lab is used.

Flexible spending/HSA accounts:

Many flexible spending accounts will cover my services and products as well as many HSA accounts. Please check with your specific plan.
